McDonald’s Corporation Worldwide Convention

April 21st and April 22nd, 2004

The McDonald Corporation's Worldwide Convention was held in 2004 in Orlando, Florida. Paul Newman was a guest at the convention and there were two performances by Clay.

At the Orange County Convention Center Clay sang:

• National Anthem, 
• Go the Distance
• Ain't No Stopping Us Now

At the end of the convention, the delegates attended a gala at Disney World's Pleasure Island where Clay sang: 

• My Girl
• I Will Carry You
• Invisible

American Idol Season Two

Atlanta Audition - 11/1/02; broadcast - 1/28/03

Clay walked into the audition room wearing a striped button-down shirt, and was asked "Why are you here?” His answer: "I'm the American Idol." 

Clay sang an a capella version of "Always and Forever.” Randy said, “I say yes." Simon said, "You don't look like a Pop Star, but you've got a great voice". They sent him to Hollywood.

Charlotte Audition - 10/17/02 

Prior to his audition in Atlanta , Clay went to an audition in Charlotte .

He sang "Somewhere over the Rainbow" . When he didn't make it, he decided to try again in Atlanta
